Class trailer reviews!
Pusher Trilogy (1997-2005)
Genre of the Trailer- Drugs/horror/crime
My mark (After viewing) 7/10
What happened in the trailer?
In the trailer Pusher Trilogy there are torture and murder scenes plus lots of action and then text on screen of different critic’s comments from all the pusher films from 1997-2005.
Which positive, clever or interesting aspects do you think you could include in your own trailer? What generic features are fulfilled well? Showing scenes with drugs, violence, gore and sex in the trailer shows it has all the right ingredients to be a body horror and appeal to its target audience well. The sound helps with the sense of the film and fastens your heart rate up because of what’s about to happen next in the trilogy. The quick paced action in the trailer shows the montage strong with the text on the blank screen. The quotes from film magazines help sell the film even more because the audience listens to critics and companies such as Empire.
Which aspects of the trailer did you think were unsuccessful, and would put you off its target audience? How is it disappointing? The trailer doesn’t ruin the plot of the film in any way but doesn’t I feel give enough to know what is happening in the film. Although it has gore in I think it still has more action in which some horror critics/fans might dislike
What was the trailer’s average score in class? Why did it receive that mark? The average score in the class was 8. The trailer did explain the story well and sold it to the audience well with the drugs and crime with gore used effectively. Pusher isn’t a full on horror film it still has the elements of gore in it and that appeals to horror audiences.
